Attenborough - Easter Sunday (4th April)

Had an evening walk around attenbrough as the sun was shining, this is what i saw

Wavy Bittercress, which i've seen round and about

















Some more Sweet Violet, white variety this time
































Plenty of Lesser Celandine flowering on the banks of the Trent
















Lots of Ivy-leaved speedwell growing under the hedges near the cricket field

Colwick Park - 1st april 2010

There were a lot of celandines in flower around colwick today, even though i've seen them around and about already i haven't been able to photograph it, either as its been out of reach or that the flowers have been closed, but i managed to get some shots today!































Also saw this garden escape, unsure of the species though it is a flowering currant - Ribes sp.
















More coltsfoot was in flower today, beginning to get its green leaves.
















got a quick shot of a dandelion too, which are growing in profusion everywhere

Primrose species

Although its not a 'wild' primrose, i thought i'd add this as two plants have popped up in my friends garden, which i think are self seeded garden escapees. I think they are a hybrid species of primrose, Primula x pruhoniciana, which although 'domestic' are still rather nice!

Brackenhurst and Clifton 26th March

Had a walk around brackenhurst after handing my uni dissertation. There were a few flowers popping up here and there, most noticeably more Dog's Mercury.
















At sheepwalks pond there was some Coltsfoot in flower
















As well as some Daisies which looked nice growing near the coltsfoot
















In Clifton in the afternoon, there were a few flowers in the village. This bed of Groundsel, Red dead nettle and Common chickweed looked quite nice i think
















I also found my first Sweet Violet of the year

Brackenhurst 18th March

More common chickweed seen today, seems to be everywhere, definately one of the more dominant early flowering species. also seen on alfreton road.

Dogs mercury was also seen in wooded areas
































Hazel was in flower too, in abundance across the Brackenhurst estate, although this species has been flowering for around 6 weeks now.

Clifton 14th march

There were a good few flowers coming up at clifton wood today as well as in the surrounding farmland. a lot of vegetation was emerging on the woodland floor, with LOADS of arum maculatum leaves about, should look nice in flower. lots of cultivated crocuses and snowdrops were seen in the village too.

There was lots of common chickweed about

The red dead nettle looked nice in the sun

















Saw a bit of groundsel here and there, looked a bit tatty though!

Common field speedwell also in flower, very nice.,.

March flowers

Some more flowers popping up around and about but no true wild ones really, seen lots of snowdrops about and there are a lot of crocuses popping up EVERYWHERE. don't really know the species as a lot are introduced/planted varieties, but its giving the landscape a nice springy feel.

Went to bristol for the weekend the other day and found a lot of Primrose growing in the city, as well as around Cheddar, which was nice to see, as well as some butchers broom still with berries on.
